My keynotes and workshops focus on spiritual health, mindfulness, and genuine self-care for a variety of audiences. They are informed by my personal experience with the benefits of contemplation practices to manage codependency and other difficult relationships. Some example talk topics include:
- Self-care spirituality, especially for women needing the time, space, and grace necessary to achieve authentic self-knowledge, self-acceptance and self-gift, even in times of desperation
- Recovery from co-dependency
- Spiritual Reading for healing even in times of desolation
- Correcting oft-misinterpreted faith-based concepts of mercy, forgiveness, sacrifice, charity and authentic humility based on teaching of both ancient and modern spiritual thinkers
- Detachment as a value consistent with deep faith
- Lessons from great Christian female mystics about embracing our own divinity, as well as their teachings of the fluidity of gender, perfect love and humility.
I am experienced teacher of communication, with a Ph.D. and faculty position at Otterbein University in Columbus, Ohio. I am also a Benedictine Oblate of St. Meinrad Archabbey in Indiana. Because my talks both demonstrate and apply tangible, spiritual tools, participants leave better equipped to manage difficult emotions, set boundaries, and make choices in relationships better aligned with personal and spiritual values.
My programs are based on my book Less Helping Them, More Healing You: The Transcendent Gift of an Ancient Spiritual Practice, and can include guided facilitation of lectio divina-based meditations. I am available for both in-person and virtual keynotes and workshops.
